This came as a little bit of a surprise since I was posting at the time the message appeared, but I have to say that even though I currently don't agree with the decision of killing the site like that (mostly due to the shock), I DO agree that the community went beyond stale and it was rather painful to see the site just sitting there with 1 or 2 threads at most per day and that keeping it around any longer would've been absolutely pointless.
I know it sounds cliché, but I'm really thankful for the time I spent on LoZ and XG and specially for all the friends I got there, seriously, just look at my friend list on Facebook, you'll notice most of them are from XG. I really regret not being able to keep contact with some people outside from the site, but hey, you know me, that's not going to stop me from stalking you all 'til we meet face to face again XD.
I'd also like to thank the community, specially the staff (if any of 'em are reading this), for putting up with my bullshit for these past 5 years, seriously, I appreciate it and would like to appologize for the inconvenience.
It's quite painful to think that one of the most important things in my life for the past 5 years is gone, but as we say in the business, The Show Must Go On.
So, you might be wondering "Is this the last we're going to see of the legendary and amazingly handsome Jack Archer?" or "What were those wonderful projects he masterfully kept teasing us with?"
Well, my dear readers, the answer to the first question is a direct "No". I've moved on already to a larger community (I'm a g1 at ScrewAttack now), but I'll never forget my roots, so don't get alarmed if you see me just chillin' at GFAQs, trolling the shit out of the Zelda Dungeon or trying to track down the original owner of the infamous loz.com site.
About the second question: There really is no point in keeping 'em a secret anymore, but I WILL honor my word and show 'em to every single XG member I have contact with as soon as they're finished. They will be shown to the rest of the public 1-2 weeks later.
- The first project is a Retro Gaming Stream where I'll try to re-introduce the viewer to long forgotten videogaming gems from the past. Maybe a game that was famous at the time, but no one seems to remember it or a game that was completely ignored. Viewers will also get the opportunity to vote on what games they want to see every 2 or 3 episodes.
- Horrible Gaming Stream: People list the worst games they've ever played and I beat them live.
*In the case of these 2 streams, old XG members will get 1 or 2 extra episodes per season (which will be around 10-13 episodes).
- I've been working with some friends on a bunch of scripts for some movie projects which you'll finally get to see around the end of the year or early 2013. Including "The Attack of the 60 Year Old Virgins" Trilogy (a tribute to Ed Wood and George A. Romero), "The Arabian's Revenge" (an idea for an adult show similar in style to Beakman's World), "Dusk" (an experimental Zombie Psychological Thriller film with 1 real serious cut and 15 others parodying the style of multiple famous directors) and "Castlevania" (fanfilm series, following the 4-2-3-DX-SotN sequence).
- I've shelved my novel project for now to concentrate on the movie scripts, but as soon as I'm done, you'll finally see Reeve and Katherine make their debut.
Well, that is all for now, I'm sorry for the radical change of mood halfway through this journal, but that's just the way I roll ("said the barrel")
I'd like to thank LoZ and XG for all the good memories again and remember, I'll always be around for my fellow XG survivors and specially for all the friends I made there.
Sincerely,
Sergio Ivan Rosales Rodriguez, a.k.a. Jack Archer, a.k.a. The Last Sage.
P.S. I'm not really Regretful, but I like that wall slamming emote XD.
